The Missouri Nurses Association would like to invite you to join us for an upcoming live, virtual event. 

Health News: Pearls for Publishing and Podcasts

Date:  November 13, 2024
Time: 12 - 1:00 pm CST

This webinar aims to discuss how interdisciplinary teams communicate health issues through publications and podcasts. Objectives: By the end of the webinar the participant will: 1.Identify resources available to nurses to help with the publishing process and ways to develop a manuscript when working with multiple authors. 2.Understand how today's healthcare students are prepared for podcast programming and technology infrastructure.

Speakers

Janice Putnam PhD

Janice Putnam is a registered nurse and professor at the University of Central Missouri, specializing in health and policy issues of combustible tobacco/cannabis. She has led manuscript development and published dozens of articles with her colleagues and students. She served as the Chair of the Missouri Nurse Editorial Review Board for over a decade establishing standard operations for the magazine's peer review process.



Sanja Gidakovic MS

Sanja Gidakovic is a STEM Liaison Librarian at the University of Central Missouri (UCM). With a Master of Information Studies and currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Information Science, Sanja provides support to various programs, including Health Studies and Nursing. Her role encompasses resource support, consultations, and instruction, to advance information access, research, and publishing within these programs.



Karen Doyle PhD

Karen Doyle is an Associate Professor and the Program Coordinator at the University of Central Missouri (UCM). With a doctorate in Exercise Physiology, American College of Sports Medicine certification, and 34 years of work experience, she leads the Health Studies curriculum and the program's future direction. Karen teaches the active learning podcast experience including program planning, assessment, evaluation, advising, recruitment, and marketing.



Molly Jennings PhD

Molly Jennings is an Assistant Professor of Health Studies at the University of Central Missouri. She has a Doctor of Health Sciences degree and has spent the last 15 years teaching athletic training education. Molly’s role in podcasting is developing and maintaining a project-friendly platform for dissemination.
