2024 Missouri Nurse Advocacy Day

Wednesday, March 6, 2024 (7:30 AM - 3:00 PM) (CST)

Description

REGISTER NOW for the 2024 Missouri Nurse Advocacy Day!

Missouri Nurse Advocacy Day is intended to increase awareness of the political process for all nurses and nursing students. The event expands participants’ understanding of the legislative process and provides them with effective techniques for advocating for their patients and practice.

This event will focus on why legislative advocacy is important, identifying the Missouri Nurses Association’s key legislative priorities, as well as sharing what is needed from each nurse in the state to be successful at the Capitol.

The 2024 Missouri Nurse Advocacy Day will be delivered in two parts this year:

  • Part 1) a live, in-person event at the Capitol Plaza Hotel on March 6, with an afternoon spent at the Missouri State Capitol networking with legislators
  • Part 2) a virtual, on-demand presentation, to view prior to the live event on March 6 to prepare you for the day. This presentation will be available for viewing from January 8 through March 31 to those pre-registered.

AGENDA

The March 6 program will begin with exhibitor networking, followed by an Advocacy Celebration Breakfast (plated breakfast for all in attendance), an overview of legislative priorities and what we hope for attendees to accomplish at the Capitol, as well as a special guest speaker. We encourage all registrants to view the on-demand content prior to arriving at the in-person event on March 6.

Attendees will then head to the Capitol and spend the afternoon visiting with legislators, monitoring the floor debate, hearings, etc. and taking in the splendor of the Capitol building. Attendees will not return to the hotel for additional educational sessions.

MONA Advocacy Leaders will be available at the Capitol in the 3rd floor rotunda between 1-3pm to address questions and hear about the day’s experiences. All registrants stopping by will be entered into a drawing for a $250 gift card – so add this stop to your itinerary for the day!
